My daughter has had hearing issues over the past year and today Teresa was our Nexus Hearing Professional. She gave my daughter a donated hearing aid free of charge with batteries and incredible /informative medical information with photos on my daughter's rare ear condition. She put us at ease and was an absolute saint. We cannot thank you enough!

Michael K

The personal support at this and other NexGen offices is excellent. Not only are you given choices of high quality products, but your specialized needs are addressed and tweaked until you’re happy. Very impressed with Teresa’s audiology expertise, but also with the way she navigates complex and constantly evolving technology. As a professional musician and avid outdoor enthusiast, I pushed the envelope re expectations but came out getting the maximum possible from my Oticon More set, thanks to unwavering support from Teresa (and previously, Selene).

ANSWERS ABOUT HEARING AIDS AND MORE

Frequently Asked Questions

Wax filters should be changed every month to maintain optimal performance and cleanliness of your hearing aid. Along with the wax filter, hearing aid tubing should be replaced every four to six months, and domes should be replaced every two to three months if your hearing aid has those components.

Hearing aid prices vary from several hundred dollars up to a few thousand, and it all depends on the technology level in each device. Affordable hearing aids and the more expensive options come with different features and capabilities.

You can think of hearing aids as coming in levels of gold, silver, or bronze. If your listening needs are simple, it just might be that even the most basic hearing aid is enough for you. If your life is more active and you find yourself wanting to hear better in more active and noisy listening environments, then a more sophisticated level of hearing aid features will give you more benefit.

NexGen Hearing also offers financing options to help you with an affordable option to improve your hearing. Learn more about our lease to hear financing and other hearing aid financing options.

Here at your local NexGen Hearing Center, we help you every step of the way in deciding if a hearing aid is best for you. We will conduct a free hearing test to determine if you currently have hearing loss. Once the hearing test has been completed, we will help you ascertain how much your hearing loss (if any) is affecting your daily life and/or activities. If you can’t hear as well as you could in the past, several aspects of your life could be impacted. Hearing loss can gradually increase without us even realizing, which lends weight to the idea of consistently having your hearing checked.

Our audiologists are experienced in treating a variety of levels of hearing loss and their effects. Don’t go another day wondering if your hearing could be improved. Let our experts help you improve your hearing to its highest levels.

We do perform tinnitus assessments at some of our NexGen Hearing clinics. To find out which clinic you can book a tinnitus assessment appointment please call us at 1 (877) 606 6671.

There are quite a few things you can do to get the most out of your hearing aid battery such as:
  • Store batteries at normal room temperature.
  • Wash your hands before changing batteries to keep oil and dirt from causing damage to the battery or clogging up the air pores.
  • Leave the battery compartment in your hearing aid open at night to let moisture escape.
  • Use a hearing aid storage container or dehumidifier.
  • Check the expiration date on the package before you purchase new batteries. Try and purchase batteries with an expiry date that is a year in the future or further.
  • Do not remove the protective seal on the battery until you’re ready to use it. Once the seal is removed, the battery begins to lose charge.
  • Use rechargeable batteries. Our clinic staff would be happy to help you find a rechargeable option for your device.
