Steve S

I just want to Thank You. I was suffering from hearing loss for a number of years, my friends and family was finally able to convince me to search out for a solution. I discovered Veterans Affairs would cover the costs of hearing aids for me as my hearing loss started from firearms training without adequate hearing protection. While waiting for an approval from V.A. I tried several different hearing aids clinics, and found NexGen Hearing in Coquitlam to be far superior to all the rest. Lindsey & Claire's product knowledge and customer service is second to none. The exceptional service did not end once the sale was completed, I have dropped by without an appointment and was greeted cheerfully and served promptly. Thanks Again. Steve

My experience with the NexGen clinic has been nothing short of excellent. They really care about your issues and work diligently to help you. Julia has been absolutely amazing. She was happy to patiently try everything she could to help my situation. Nothing was too much trouble. If there ever was a textbook case for great customer service then this is it. I would have no hesitation in recommending them. They are true professional at their craft.

ANSWERS ABOUT HEARING AIDS AND MORE

Frequently Asked Questions

At our clinic, we use the pure-tone audiometry test which involves you sitting in a soundproof room while wearing headphones and pressing a button every time you hear a sound. This is a short and painless test that usually lasts about 15 minutes.

Hearing aid prices vary from several hundred dollars up to a few thousand, and it all depends on the technology level in each device. Affordable hearing aids and the more expensive options come with different features and capabilities.

You can think of hearing aids as coming in levels of gold, silver, or bronze. If your listening needs are simple, it just might be that even the most basic hearing aid is enough for you. If your life is more active and you find yourself wanting to hear better in more active and noisy listening environments, then a more sophisticated level of hearing aid features will give you more benefit.

NexGen Hearing also offers financing options to help you with an affordable option to improve your hearing. Learn more about our lease to hear financing and other hearing aid financing options.

A hearing aid will drastically improve the quality of your hearing. However, it cannot restore the natural function of your ear. If you require a hearing aid to improve your hearing, then you will need to rely on it to maintain your hearing.

If your hearing aid is making a whistling noise, then you are hearing feedback in your device. Sound that was supposed to go into your ear canal has escaped the ear instead and been picked up by the hearing instrument’s microphone. The sound then becomes reamplified and put out of the speaker.

This can happen when the hearing aid does not fit properly. If you are experiencing a whistling noise in your hearing device, come see us at our clinic so we can have your hearing aid refitted.

There are many signs and symptoms of hearing loss. The signs of hearing loss can differ from person to person depending on the type of hearing loss that they are experiencing. General signs of hearing loss include:
  • Voices sounding muffled or unclear
  • Not being able to tell where a sound is coming from (known as localization)
  • Needing higher volume settings on televisions, stereos and headphones
  • Trouble differentiating between foreground and background noise
If you notice any of these signs in your life, contact our hearing clinic right away to schedule a free hearing test. re!
