Cloverdale Hearing Services, Hearing Aids & Hearing Tests

Losing the ability to hear can have a large impact on everyday activities, making certain things more difficult to handle. It can be something small like the constant ringing that often comes with tinnitus, or something greater like partial or full loss of hearing. Ringing is a smaller sign with minimal impact on day to day life, however full or partial hearing loss is a greater sign which has more of an impact on routine activities.

To receive the best results from your hearing test and get hearing aids fine-tuned to your specific needs, you need a RHIP. Our team at the NexGen Hearing Clinic in Cloverdale, located on 64th Avenue, is passionate about providing the highest quality hearing aid care to all of our patients. I have been dealing with the NexGen Hearing clinic in Cloverdale for the past 4 years and have found them extremely accommodating. All their staff are pleasant and easy to deal with and have helped me adjust to my hearing aids and whenever I need any assistance! I fully recommend them!!

I would like to thank Lisa Leclair for the best customer service i have received. I have a older father that has no patience, she has great patience with him . Also i would like to thank Amanda Escobar, she was so helpful with the hearing aid. She was able to adapt to my dad's old hearing aid rather than new ones and did not rush the process. Too both ladies thank you so much for caring .

Frequently Asked Questions

You do not need a referral from your family doctor to see an audiologist. If you suspect you are experiencing symptoms of hearing loss, it certainly is a good idea to discuss this with your doctor. However, you don’t need them to refer you to us in order to have your hearing tested.

If you believe your are experiencing hearing loss, don’t wait to see your doctor. Get in touch with us today for a free hearing test.

We do perform cerumen management at a small number of our NexGen Hearing clinics, most clinics prefer to provide this service to existing clients only. If you are a new client call ahead to find out which clinic offers cerumen management please call us at 1 (877) 606 6671.

The life of a hearing aid’s battery is impacted by many factors such as the hearing aid model, battery brand, battery technology, and how the device is used. The model of the hearing aid is integral in determining the life of the battery. Some hearing aids are better than others in terms of battery consumption while others offer features that will more quickly drain a battery. Batteries come in four common sizes (10, 312, 13, 675). Based on a 16 hour day of wear, the average lifespan for a standard battery is listed below:

Size 10: 3 – 7 days
Size 312: 3 – 10 days
Size 13: 6 – 14 days
Size 675: 9 – 20 days

If you prefer, rechargeable hearing aid batteries are also available for certain models of hearing aids that greatly improve the ease of replacing your batteries. Consult with your local NexGen Hearing aid practitioner for additional details.

A no-obligation hearing screening is free at any one of our clinics. This assessment includes the 3-point series of tests that includes measuring air conduction, word discrimination, and checking the eardrum and middle ear system. More comprehensive exams that require reporting such as physician reports, employment requirements or children’s hearing test are exempt from the free hearing test offer, check with your local clinic for rates.

The three types of hearing loss are:
  • Sensoineural: The inner ear, hearing nerve, or hair cells within the cochlea become damaged. It can be a result of aging, exposure to loud noise, injury, disease, certain medications, or an inherited condition.
  • Conductive: occurs in the outer or middle ear when sound waves become blocked by earwax or a foreign object in the ear canal. The middle ear canal could be impacted with fluid, infection, or a bone abnormality. Lastly, conductive hearing loss can be caused by an injury to the eardrum.
  • Mixed: People can sometimes experience a combination of both sensorineural and conductive hearing loss.
A hearing test is crucial for determining the type of hearing loss you may be experiencing and finding the right hearing care solution to treat your condition. If you suspect you’re experiencing hearing loss, book an appointment for a free hearing test at our clinic to find out for sure!
